He has specialised in the America’s Cup, Whitbread and Volvo Ocean Races plus Olympics including reporting from the 2008, 2012 Olympics and 2010 and 2013 America’s Cup for Sail-World.com. The ex commodore of the Takapuna and the Wakatere Boating Clubs Richard has also served on the Yachting NZ board and YNZ Olympic committee. His yacht racing included the Admirals Cup, Southern Cross Cup, Flying Dutchman, Contenders and Soling racing at a National and International level. This ex ISAF International Umpire and Judge is also on the America’s Cup Hall of Fame selection panel. A consultant during the early stages of the ‘Virtual Spectator’ software he is now Sail-World.com/NZ’s editor and Editor-at-Large for Sail-World.com internationally.

An ex engineer and tutor Colin has been with Sail-World.com since 2007 as New Zealand’s sales representative. Born into a boating family who had raced Mullet boats and 18 footers plus an uncle who crewed a Sydney Hobart winner Colin continues the family passion for sailing following a childhood of cruising the Hauraki Gulf.
Colin has 45 years of sailing many keelboat classes, races and regattas. Two SSANZ 2 Handed Series wins in a Farr 1020, a 3rd Masters in one of 3 OKI 24hr Laser races and podium places in many other crewed yachts keep him keen for more. These days he can be found racing on a Beneteau First 45, Etchells or other keelboat around Auckland’s harbour.
