What are Rotating Banner Sets?

Discover the secret to how advertisers display several Banners in all three website ad banner spaces.

Up to fifteen banners can be displayed among the three Ad Banner spaces displayed in various locations on the websites providing exposure of several products, services, events, etc. to every visitor while they view the website.

Rotating Banner Sets.

To understand how they can work for you, first you must understand how they are setup:

  • There are Three SETS of Banners available. The Top (Leaderboard) 728 x 90 px SET; the Side (MPU) 300 x 250 px SET and the Bottom 728 x 90 SET.
  • Each SET can include up to five banners to be displayed. This could be a different amount of banners in each SET i.e. Five Top banners SET; Three MPU banners SET and four Bottom banners SET.
  • At all times only one banner from each SET is displayed in their respective location e.g. Top, Side (MPU) or Bottom banner location.
  • Each of up to 15 banners can have its own URL link. For example: model XYZ banner is linked to website page about model XYZ.
  • The displayed banner from each SET is randomly changed to another in the SET after several **page refreshes have occurred.

(**A Page refresh occurs from opening a new story or clicking the ‘Refresh’ button on your device)

Randomly displayed.

  • A random selection of which banner to display from each SET is constantly made by our robot while wearing its wet weather gear 🙂
  • Despite the random selections, Sail-Worlds well seasoned mariner robot achieves a similar number of views for each banner in each SET, with the overall total views split between the 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 banners available in each SET.

To make the best use of Sail-World ad banners an advertiser could do one or several of these things:

  1. Display up to five different products/services etc. with each set of three banners displaying the same thing. For example: Product 1 on Top, MPU & Bottom Set 1; Product 2 on Top, MPU & Bottom Set 2; Product 3 on Top, MPU & Bottom Set 3; etc.
  2. Display several different photos of the same product with each different image displayed on the Top, MPU and Bottom banners to show different uses, models, views, colours, etc. This provides ample chances to fully display capabilities, choices, etc. of  each of your products/services etc. For example: Dinghy ads = ‘Dinghy motoring’ photo on Top banner, ‘Dinghy sailing’ photo on MPU banner and ‘Dinghy on trailer’ photo on Bottom banner; BBQ ads = ‘BBQ on stern’ photo on Top banner, ‘BBQ on beach’ photo on MPU banner and ‘BBQ easily stowed in boat’ photo on Bottom banner; etc.
  3. Promote up to 15 different products with one on each of the banners made available from the Rotating Banner Sets and each different banner linked to it’s own product page on your website.
  4. A combination of these options which would need discussions on the technical ability to achieve it.

Note: Our records show the approximate site views of each banner. This shows that for one Top Banner view a Bottom banner gets six views and the Side (MPU) banner gets 20 views. Keep this in mind with your decision.

Additional Bonus: Cherry-pick ads for each regional Sail-World website

A different set of banners could be displayed on each regional Sail-World site to promote different products/brands/ services/events/messages etc. to readers in different regions. For example: Sail-World/NZ readers see local NZ distributor banners and Sail-World/AUS based see AUS distributor banners, with each linked to their respective websites.

This is only available to Multi-Site advertisers and could include setting the banners up in their own Rotating Banner Sets. An Ad package including a mix of at least two of the following sites could be used in this way. Sail-World/NZ; Sail-World/AUS; Sail-World/USA; Sail-World/CAN; Sail-World/UK’ Sail-World/EUR and Sail-World/ASIA.
