Oracle Team USA has confirmed that Harken will provide hardware for its America’s Cup yachts as an Official Supplier. Harken’s involvement in the Cup dates back 30 years to Perth, Australia. The boats have changed dramatically since then, from 12-metre class monohulls to foiling wing-sailed catamarans, and the demands an America’s Cup team places on its deck hardware supplier has only increased.

America’s Cup – Yamaha extends 30 year partnership with Kiwi team
One of Emirates Team NZ’s foundation suppliers, Yamaha have signed up again to power the most successful America’s Cup team of the modern era. Yamaha has been the official supplier of outboard motors to the Emirates Team New Zealand chase boats, a union that has seen Yamaha supplying the team with engines since 1987.

Now in the ownership of the NZ Sailing Trust, Steinlager 2 has been refurbished above and below decks and is now close to her original condition – save for a few mementos of those who have gone before., Volvo Ocean Race and Barcelona World Race.

Skies clear for final day of the Auckland On the Water Boat Show
The heavy rain which hit the Auckland On the Water Boat Show and the rest of the province has cleared and it is business as usual for the final day. The crowds were at the Viaduct Events Centre gat at 10.00am this morning – a little surprising given the heavy rain which has plagued Auckland over night and at Show opening time, plus the All Blacks Test match which started at 11.00am.

The Auckland On the Water Boat Show pulled a great crowd again today, with the threatening weather which dogged the last couple of hours of yesterday’s Show, being thankfully absent. The Show finished Sunday at 5.00pm – catch some great exhibits – and it is great fun for kids. Don’t miss having a look at HMNZS Hawea tied alongside.

Despite a less than optimist forecast of more inclement weather, visitors to the Auckland On the Water Boat Show were rewarded with a good day to be at the Show – overcast skies, but no rain and plenty to see and do. Held for the first time in the school holidays, the kids – who get free entry – had a great day.

Rio 2016 – Fresher breezes expected inside and outside on Day 3
